Since 2000, Perez has been providing business start up advice and coaching individuals as well as owners and management teams of both private and socially conscious mission-driven businesses.

As a social entrepreneur
Perez founded ‘successful’ enterprises namely, Sahara Communities Abroad (Sacoma) which is a social enterprise offering business support, training, information advice and guidance to BME (Black Minority Ethnic) communities) and Sampez Ltd , a business consultancy offering support to businesses in social enterprise, leadership, coaching and mentoring) in which Perez is responsible for ‘fundraising and finance’, ‘coaching and mentoring’ and change management.
Under Perez’s leadership Sacoma and Sampez have achieved a range of national quality standards and SACOMA has achieved recognition awards for its excellence in the voluntary sector.
As the CEO and Director of Finance, Perez has overseen since growth from her business (Sacoma) from a volunteer led organisation to an established and credible enterprise now leading in the social enterprise agenda. The SACOMA reaches out to over 20,000 people and Sacoma now has several trading companies including Sacoma Centre for enterprise which provides accredited training and business support services as well as offering information and guidance on ‘Pensions and Retirement issues’ across the country. The SACOMA CDFI offers start up Loans for viable businesses in the community thus offering the very much needed start up funds community businesses. Miss Kenya UK is a SACOMA initiative for engaging with young Girls in Volunteering to gain work skills and get mentoring to give their potential. The Beauty Pageant is an initiative also designed to create high awareness of children with special needs in Kenya. Through this SACOMA now uses its expertise to help people living in the slums of Kenya to start income generating activities for their livelihood and that of their community. In effect the SACOMA model replicated in Africa.
Passion
Perez’s passion lies ‘strictly’ at the heart of the ethnic community in which she delivers coaching and mentoring workshops to motivate and inspire men and women to achieve their ‘goals’, in which she vigorously assists to build corporations, increased labour productivity and entrepreneurship in the ethnic communities. Some ethnic communities have been deprived and disadvantaged due to ‘country migration’ and ‘a lack of knowledge’ of where to go and get career or business support and advice to restart their new lives abroad. Perez states ‘Many of the people I work with are highly skilled, yet find it very daunting to restart their career or business life in the UK; they lose their self esteem and are not longer motivated to try new challenges, in which I step in to assist them to build up their confidence and motivate them to take the right steps to reach they aspiring goals, in this country (UK) there are so many career and business opportunities for everyone”.
Qualifications
Perez comes from a background that is unconventional from both a commercial and non-profit angle, which has accounted to her entrepreneurial success.
A qualified chartered accountant and chartered Director, Perez holds several professions, certifications and qualifications in Fundraising, Business Advice, Coaching and Mentoring, Human Resources and Management. She is an approved consultant for Business Link for London, specializing in social enterprise. Perez enjoys enterprise development, entrepreneurship and innovation, local community development and social investment.
Perez’s Book - Buy Book
In October 2006 Perez launches ‘The Inspired Journey – Goal Setting Tool’ which is dedicated to challenging and equipping people to achieve their full potential and achieving success. The concepts of the goal setting tool book takes one through a journey of ‘a discovery of purpose’, enabling readers to elicit self-limiting beliefs and develop internal motivation to define their goals. Developing clear written goals and plan of action to achieve them and channel their energy towards ‘unleashing their natural potentials’.
Children
Perez and Sam have five beautiful children. Her main ‘focus’ in working hard to achieve to be good role model for them. Perez states ‘My greatest ambition is to be a role model for my children and also provide them with a good education and a good quality of life. They are my greatest inspiration and I would like to build several corporations and enterprises that they can succeed and also be responsible hard working citizens’.
Interests
And when she is not trying to juggle the business and the children, Perez enjoys cool music, dancing salsa, reading and playing golf.
